The Smith & Wesson M29 revolver is a true classic – more specifically, the 6.5-inch barrel version, which was made iconic by Clint Eastwood in the movie Dirty Harry. In that case it was chambered in .44 caliber, here it is available as an airgun replica using 4.5mm steel BBs powered by a CO2 cartridge.
The individual BBs are inserted into cartridge replicas, so the loading of the revolver is the same as for the real firearm. The trigger works in both single-action and double-action modes, so you can either manually cock the hammer before each shot, or simply repeatedly pull the trigger for rapid-fire.
The entire revolver is made of polished, blackened metal, achieving a realistic weight as well. The grip may be plastic, but you can’t distinguish it from real wood at first sight.
The 12g CO2 cartridge is inserted inside the grip after removing the left scale. There’s also a built-in Allen key right inside the grip scale for tightening the cartridge.
Maintenance
Since the gun is powered by CO2 cartridges, the sealing rings can become brittle and crack when exposed to the freezing carbon dioxide over time. This can be prevented by occasional application of silicone oil 1) by applying a few drops of silicone oil to the nozzle of the inserted cartridge 2) by using an oil cartridge (easiest). It’s also not recommended to leave the activated cartridge in the gun for longer than necessary. If you know you won’t be shooting for a while, release the pressure by loosening the valve.
